Bolanle Austen-Peters Productions (BAP Productions) is taking one of its most talked-about stage plays abroad. The company has announced that Dear Kaffy: Diary of a Single Woman will make its UK debut at the Shaw Theatre in London, running for three nights only, from 7 to 9 August 2026, with performances at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM each day.
The London staging follows the production’s earlier runs in Lagos and South Africa and marks the latest step in BAP’s push to bring contemporary African theatre to international audiences.

At the centre of the play is Kikelomo “Kike” Olota, a successful 35-year-old woman navigating love, family expectations and societal pressure in modern-day Lagos. As she moves through a series of relationships, she finds herself torn between what others expect of her and the life she actually wants.

Blending humour, heartbreak, music and reflection, the play leans into themes of identity, womanhood and authenticity to tell a story the producers say is rooted in Nigerian culture but built to resonate widely, particularly with the African diaspora.
Dear Kaffy is the latest work from BAP Productions, the theatre and film company founded by producer-director Bolanle Austen-Peters. Over the past decade, the outfit has become one of the most prominent forces in Nigerian theatre, behind stage productions including Saro the Musical, Wakaa! The Musical, Fela and the Kalakuta Queens, Motherland the Musical and Death and the King’s Horseman. The company frames the London engagement as another milestone in a growing international footprint.

Speaking on the production, Austen-Peters described it as “a story about self-worth, resilience, and finding the courage to define your own path,” adding that while Kike’s journey is set in Lagos, her experiences are universal.

The play will be staged at the Shaw Theatre, 100–110 Euston Road, London NW1 2AJ. Tickets are priced at £45 for standard, £70 for premium and £100 for VIP, and the producers have advised early booking, saying they expect the limited three-day run to sell quickly.
