Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal may have been dealt another setback in their pursuit of Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu after Trabzonspor's latest signing, Aral ÅžimÅŸir, made his intentions clear, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian striker has been linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia in recent weeks after enjoying a sensational season following his permanent switch from Southampton.
Onuachu scored 22 goals and provided two assists in 30 Turkish Super Lig appearances last season, finishing as the league's top scorer and helping Trabzonspor secure European football.
Despite growing interest from Al-Hilal, Trabzonspor appear determined to build an even stronger side around the 32-year-old rather than cash in on their leading marksman.

Trabzonspor transfer: Aral ÅžimÅŸir eyes Paul Onuachu linkup
The Turkish club are on the verge of completing the signing of Danish winger Aral ÅžimÅŸir from FC Midtjylland in a deal reportedly worth an initial €13 million, with a further €2 million in performance-related bonuses.
Speaking after arriving in Trabzon, ÅžimÅŸir revealed that one of his biggest motivations is supplying chances for Onuachu.

“I'm very happy. I worked very hard to get here,” the 24-year-old said in quotes revealed by 61saat.
“It wasn't a very difficult choice for me; they've been following me for 5 years anyway.
“I prefer playing as number 10 or on the left wing. I thank everyone who came here; may God be pleased with them.”

“My first priority is to score goals and provide assists,” ÅžimÅŸir continued.
“I want to do the same in the national team. I am used to playing as a number 10 and on the left wing. I enjoy playing in these positions.
“I will do my best. I will do everything I can to help Onuachu score a goal,” the former Denmark U-17 winger concluded.
ÅžimÅŸir's comments will come as welcome news for Trabzonspor supporters, who are eager to see their star striker improve on last season's remarkable campaign.
The arrival of a creative winger capable of operating both on the left flank and in attacking midfield suggests the Black Sea Storm are strengthening their attack with Onuachu at the centre of their plans.

That development could complicate Al-Hilal's reported interest, with Trabzonspor showing little indication they are preparing for life without the former Genk striker.
Having already established himself as one of the Turkish Super Lig's most clinical forwards, Onuachu is expected to spearhead Trabzonspor's domestic and European ambitions next season, with ÅžimÅŸir hoping to become one of his primary providers.
