Wizkid is teasing a new album, getting fans excited about what he may be releasing next.
The Grammy-winning Afrobeats singer took to X on Saturday night, posting a brief message that simply read: “Album
”—a cryptic announcement that immediately triggered speculation among fans about a possible new body of work.
While Wizkid did not reveal further details, industry watchers believe the post signals the rollout of his next studio album. The excitement has been further fueled by reports of a pre-release album party scheduled for June 25 in Paris, suggesting that preparations for a major rollout may already be underway.
The new project would mark Wizkid’s return to a full-length album release following his 2024 studio project Morayo, a deeply personal album dedicated to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
If confirmed, the upcoming release continues a prolific career that has seen Wizkid rise from breakout star in 2011 with Superstar to one of Africa’s most influential global artists. He has since released acclaimed projects including Ayo (2014), Sounds From the Other Side (2017), Made in Lagos (2020), and More Love, Less Ego (2022).
Made in Lagos remains one of his most successful albums globally, featuring collaborations with international and African stars such as Damian Marley, Skepta, H.E.R., Ella Mai, Burna Boy, Tems, and Terri, helping cement his position as a leading figure in the global Afrobeats movement.
In addition to his solo work, Wizkid has continued to expand his collaborations. In January 2026, he reportedly released a joint EP titled Real with fellow Afrobeats star Asake, further extending his influence across the genre’s new generation.
Over the years, Wizkid has accumulated major international recognition, including a Grammy Award in 2021 for his feature on Beyoncé’s Brown Skin Girl.
