“OKC having it easy” – Super Falcons’ Asisat Oshoala gives NBA playoffs verdict

Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has tipped the Oklahoma City Thunder (OKC) to win the NBA Playoffs, Soccernet.ng reports.

The most critical part of the NBA season has arrived. Following the conclusion of the regular season, 16 teams are set to slug it out to become champions of the league.

Oklahoma City entered this season as the defending champions after defeating the Indiana Pacers in last year's finals. They show no signs of slowing down, having put up a brilliant performance throughout the regular season. OKC topped the Western Conference standings with an impressive 64–18 record, ensuring they enter the playoffs as the number one seed.

Nonetheless, despite OKC’s quality, they have shown occasional signs of weakness, and a few rival teams may fancy their chances of an upset. Solid contenders such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, New York Knicks, and Boston Celtics all possess the potential to give Mark Daigneault and his squad significant problems.

On Saturday, she shared a picture of the NBA playoffs bracket and tipped the Thunder to retain their title. However, she noted that the San Antonio Spurs could pose a legitimate threat to their dominance.

”The Championship is definitely going to the West again. OKC might go back-to-back if the Spurs don't make it,” Oshoala stated. “Even if the Nuggets survive the Timberwolves, they are going to have to face the Spurs, which will be exhausting. OKC will surely have an easy run until the Conference Finals.”

While Oshoala believes the Western Conference will provide the eventual winner, the Boston Celtics may have something to say about that. The Celtics have grown stronger as the season progressed, and with star player Jayson Tatum leading the way, they remain a formidable obstacle.

The NBA Finals are expected to begin on June 3, and it will be interesting to see which team eventually earns the ring.
