Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has threatened to punish a social media user over what he described as false and defamatory claims linking him to the rumoured collapse of BamBam’s marriage.
The controversy was sparked by a viral post on X in which a user alleged, without evidence, that BamBam had been divorced by her husband, Teddy A, after he supposedly discovered she was pregnant for Uzor Arukwe’s child. The post claimed the alleged affair was exposed through a “leaked private chat” and quickly gained traction, drawing widespread attention and backlash.
Arukwe, who starred alongside BamBam as her romantic lead in Omoni Oboli’s film Love In Every Word, reacted swiftly, dismissing the allegation as entirely false, in a strongly worded response on X.
“A specific account has been identified to spread false rumors and baseless accusations about me and my professional engagement with another colleague in the industry. I choose not to quote the account directly, as I refuse to give such accounts the engagement they seek at the risk of jail time. Believe me when I say this: that individual will be made a scapegoat so others learn to respect boundaries and refrain from chasing clout and Elon Musk money at the expense of damaging someone else’s reputation,” he wrote

Arukwe’s response also reignited conversations about the recurring tendency to blur the line between acting and real life. Observers have pointed out that on-screen chemistry is part of an actor’s job, not proof of off-screen relationships or misconduct.
The use of BamBam’s roles in Love In Every Word and the upcoming film Without You, both starring Arukwe as her co-lead, to fuel personal allegations has been widely criticised as unfair and misleading.
In recent days, fans noticed that the couple, whose real names are Bamike and Tope Adenibuyan, had unfollowed each other on Instagram, a move that immediately set off alarm bells online.
The development revived earlier speculation from December 2025, when both shared separate Christmas photoshoots instead of their usual joint family pictures, further feeding narratives of possible tension in their more than five-year-old marriage.
Teddy A and BamBam first met during the 2018 edition of Big Brother Naija, where their relationship quickly became a fan favourite. They married in 2019 and went on to build a strong public image as a loving family, often sharing moments with their children and collaborating professionally, earning a reputation as one of the reality show’s most admired couples.
However, the latest wave of rumours also follows Teddy A’s recent appearance on Chude Jideonwo’s WithChude podcast, where he addressed past domestic abuse allegations linked to their marriage, describing them as false and deeply painful. He explained that his decision to remain silent at the time, based on advice from his manager, only allowed damaging stories to linger.
Despite the intense online speculation, neither Teddy A nor BamBam has publicly commented on the current state of their marriage. BamBam, however, appeared to subtly brush off the rumours when she shared a photo of herself on Instagram on February 10, looking calm and confident in a traditional outfit. While she offered no direct response, the post was widely interpreted by fans as a quiet display of resilience amid the growing storm of rumours surrounding her personal life.
