Ahead of NECLive 2025, award-winning media personality Bolanle Olukanni is excited about the conference’s continued evolution and the well-curated lineup of speakers and panellists ahead of the 2025 edition.
This year’s edition, organised by Nigerian Entertainment Today and Africa Creative Foundation, brings together an unparalleled mix of media executives, filmmakers, music leaders, tech innovators, government officials, and investment experts—all tasked with charting the future of Africa’s $4.2 billion creative economy.
Bolanle Olukanni, the renowned television host and filmmaker, recognised for her work on popular shows such as Project Fame West Africa, The Juice, and Moments with Mo, is well-respected for her creativity, interview style, and social impact advocacy, which have made her one of Africa’s most trusted media voices.
She was announced as co-host for the conference, alongside compere and TV presenter Tee A. This marks her third time hosting the premier creative industry event, a journey that began during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at an exclusive event in Lagos, Olukanni reflected on her history with the platform. “This is my third year hosting I did my first one during the COVID era, and it was in a studio. Then I did a live audience, and now I’m doing it with Tee A, and I’m excited to be back.”
Olukanni praised NECLive for its consistent role in showcasing the Nigerian creative industry. “NECLive has always been a wonderful platform that wonderfully showcases our industry,” she said. Since its inception in 2013, NECLive has addressed critical challenges, including infrastructure deficits, limited access to funding, inadequate intellectual property protection, and weak distribution networks that continue to constrain growth despite Nigeria’s creative sector contributing approximately 2.3% to GDP (worth over $4.2 billion annually).
Her anticipation for the 2025 edition is particularly high following a recent briefing from the organisers. “I had a preliminary call, funny enough, today, and they just talked about how it’s expanding, the lineup is better, and it’s more curated. So, I’m really looking forward to it.”
Her co-hosting role alongside veteran comedian and broadcaster Tee A is expected to bring a dynamic and insightful flow to the conference, which is themed “Powering Africa Through Creative Enterprise.”
NECLive 2025 will on Friday, November 28 2025, at Landmark Events Centre Lagos. Attendance is free, but registration is compulsory. Register at www.nec.ng.
