English Premier League clubs Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers are weighing up a transfer for Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho this month, Soccernet.ng reports.
The last few months have been torrid for 28-year-old Iheanacho. When the Nigerian striker joined Sevilla after the expiration of his loan deal at Leicester City, it was expected that he would shine in Spanish football.
However, that has been far from the case, as Iheanacho has not gotten a lot of game time. He has featured in eleven games, with three goals to his name. But most of his appearances have been off the bench.
Due to his lack of game time, there have been talks that Iheanacho could leave Sevilla during the current transfer window. He has even been left out of training recently, as Los Nervionenses desperately want him to leave.
Now, in a new report, per Transfer News Live, Premier League strugglers Ipswich and Wolves are pushing to sign him this summer.
Sevilla will be willing to let Iheanacho leave on loan till the end of the season. But it is unknown if they will be willing to sell him permanently afterwards.
Both Wolves and Ipswich Town are struggling in the Premier League and are in danger of relegation. Wolves sit 17th with 16 points, same points tally with the Tractor Boys who sit 18th but are separated by goals difference.
