Controversial crossdresser Bobrisky has made a public plea for the release of fellow entertainer Speed Darlington, urging Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy to forgive him and facilitate his freedom. In a series of heartfelt posts on Instagram Sunday, Bobrisky expressed concern over Speed Darlington’s well-being in prison and called for a more lenient punishment.

“I just want to mind my business this year and stay away from anything involving Nigerian celebrities, but my soft heart won’t stop me from thinking about many things,” Bobrisky wrote, revealing a side of him rarely seen in the public eye.

Bobrisky’s appeal centers on the 45 days Speed Darlington has already served in prison, arguing that this duration should be enough punishment. He empathized with Speed Darlington’s situation, suggesting that the entertainer likely couldn’t afford a “VIP section” in prison, a more comfortable option for inmates with financial means.

“Please, Burna Boy, forgive Speed. Prison is not a nice place. I don’t think he has the money for the VIP section because it’s expensive,” Bobrisky added, further emphasizing the harshness of incarceration.

Despite his own past controversies, Bobrisky spoke out in defense of the entertainer, saying, “None of these people I’m using my platform to stand for did the same for me when it was my time. But you know what? Our hearts are different. I can’t stand seeing human beings hurt.”

Bobrisky also addressed Speed Darlington’s fans, criticizing them for enabling the rapper’s controversial actions. “Fans, learn how to tell your favourites the truth when they are crossing the line. You all were applauding Speed when he was saying unpleasant things. Now, none of you is in prison with him,” he noted.

Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, was arrested in October 2024 over allegations of defamation and cyberstalking Burna Boy. The arrest followed a series of public feuds between the two entertainers. Speed Darlington was initially detained in Lagos and later transferred to Abuja, where he was held by the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team in the Guzape area.

After his release from police custody, he was re-arrested in November 2024 while performing at a show in Owerri, Imo State, just days after returning to Nigeria from a trip abroad.
