The Yoruba Nollywood film industry is mourning the loss of renowned actor Yusuf Olorungbede, who has passed away after a period of illness.
The news of his death was shared by colleagues and fans alike, marking a big loss in the film community.
Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola took to her verified Instagram account to announce the tragic news, writing, “We lost Yusuf Olorungbede… We submit to God’s Will. Thank You Everyone!”
Actor Oladimeji Peter also expressed his grief on Facebook, remembering Olorungbede as a source of inspiration and support.
Peter wrote, “It is sad to hear you are gone. As an actor, you gave me courage. You were the first director to invite me to a movie set and not only pay me but also cover my feeding and accommodation without any hassle. How can I ever honor your legacy in this industry, EGBON? Through you, I met many people and learned so much. Good night, Boss man , Yusuf Olorungbede ”
Olorungbede had been battling illness for some time and was recently placed on life support.
