Rudi Garcia: Napoli boss fires message to Osimhen and teammates after Genoa draw

A comeback from two goals down saw Napoli show some fighting spirit against Genoa, but Rudi Garcia remains discontent with his side

Napoli coach, Rudi Garcia has bemoaned his team’s lack of determination after his side came back from a two-goal deficit to draw the game, Soccernet.ng reports.

The reigning Serie A champions had to fight back to salvage a point at Genoa to avoid defeat, thanks to late goals from Giacomo Raspadori and Mateo Politano, after they were down two goals by the hour mark.

The fifty-nine-year-old manager praised the resilient spirit of the Partenopei but also didn’t give an excuse for their abysmal display which allowed them to lose two points.

We know that we did not play well, especially in the first half, as we didn’t create much. We also conceded two goals from corner situations and that too reflects a lack of determination,” he said in the post-match conference, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb.

Just like in the team’s game at the Stadio Olimpico against Lazio, the manager stated clearly that his team did not play well.

For almost an hour, we did not play well, but at least we had a reaction and the light came from the bench, but it remains two lost points rather than one gained.

Napoli are now winless in two of their last five games and will be hoping to put the result behind them when they travel to Braga on Wednesday to kick-off their UEFA Champions League campaign.
