“He played a crucial role” – Enyimba FC bids emotional farewell to Olorunleke

Super Eagles and Enyimba International Football Club goalkeeper, Olorunleke Ojo will leave the club at the end of the season, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old has been with the club since 2021, and has grown to become the club’s captain, lifting the Nigerian Professional Football League last season under former Super Eagles coach, Finidi George.

Although he has been called up to the Nigerian National team several times, Ojo is yet to make an official appearance for the Super Eagles.

After three years at the club, Ojo has signed a two-year deal with Sudanese side, Al Merrikh Omdurman, and will play his final game for Enyimba on Sunday, against Plateau United.

“Over the past three years, Ojo has been an integral part of our team, contributing significantly to our growth and success. His dedication, passion, and commitment to excellence have made a lasting impact on our club, and we are forever grateful. Last season, he played a crucial role in helping us win the prestigious Nigeria Professional Football League title, a moment that will be etched in our history forever. For three seasons, Ojo’s dedication, passion, and commitment to excellence, and will always be a part of the Enyimba family,” Enyimba posted on their official website, wishing Ojo good luck in his next step in his career.

Al Merrikh Omdurman were second in the Sudanese league in the just-concluded season, finishing eleven points behind Al-Hilal FC Omdurman.
