Sparta Prague, one of the Czech Republic’s most prominent football clubs, have announced a competition to honour their departing forward, Peter Olayinka, who will be leaving the club this summer after an impressive five-year tenure, Soccernet.ng reports.
The competition aims to celebrate Olayinka’s remarkable performance while wearing the iconic Sparta Prague jersey.
The theme of the competition revolves around painting pictures inspired by Peter Olayinka’s contributions to the team.
The participant who creates the best artwork will be awarded a signed jersey of Peter Olayinka, autographed by all the players of Sparta Prague’s A-team.
The runner-up will receive a Slavic Man souvenir, while the third-place contestant will be presented with a Slavic drinking bottle.
The club plans to exhibit all the submitted pictures in the Parents and Children Sector after the season.
The competition is open to children up to 15 years old, who are encouraged to submit their artwork to the Parents and Children Sector before the match or during halftime.
For added convenience, children can even paint their pictures directly at the designated table in the sector and hand them to the hostesses. Participants must include their name, age, contact phone number, and the sector they will be cheering from during the match against Pilsen on the back of their artwork.
Peter Olayinka, a Nigerian international with four caps for the Super Eagles, will depart Sparta Prague for Partizan Belgrade on a free transfer at the end of this season.
Since joining Sparta from KAA Gent in July 2018, Olayinka has played a pivotal role in the team’s success, contributing to three league titles and three cup honours for the Czech giants.
