#LagosDecides2019: NYSC Members, Other Electoral Officials Protest Non-Payment of Allowances (VIDEO)


Ad-hoc staff alongside some National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members attached to some specific voting centers in some part of Lagos are protesting non-payment of allowances.

In the early hours of  Saturday, INEC officials protested the non-payment of their allowances by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The protesting INEC ad-hoc staff carried placards and also singing solidarity song, demanding payment of their allowances.

Some affected areas include Gbagada, Agege, Ajah, Ikota, Ikeja, Ogudu report also have it that NYSC members and some other Electoral officers have been protesting since 4:00am.

One of the corps member stated the agitation was as a result of the non payment and and also claimed some other members have been paid.

According to report, INEC ad-hoc staff are to be paid N14,000 as an allowance; N4,000 for inconvenience and N10,000 as a bonus, but many claimed not to have been paid.
