The best Nigerian squad you can build in FC 27 Ultimate Team

With a mixture of Nigerian stars from the men's and women's game, there is enough quality to build a highly competitive Nigeria-themed squad in EA Sports FC 27 Ultimate Team, Soccernet.ng reports.

EA Sports has released the FC 27 player ratings, giving Nigerian players a new set of Overall (OVR) ratings to work with ahead of the new Ultimate Team.

Interestingly, the highest-rated Nigerian player is Chiamaka Nnadozie, who is rated 85 OVR, alongside Osimhen, who's at 85, while Ademola Lookman is Nigeria's third-highest-rated player at 83.

With FC 27 Ultimate Team allowing players to build squads featuring both male and female footballers, Soccernet.ng put together the strongest Nigerian XI possible based on the official ratings, while also considering positional balance and the attributes that could make the team effective in-game.

Goalkeeper: Chiamaka Nnadozie – 85

There is no debate about the goalkeeper. Nnadozie is Nigeria's highest-rated player in FC 27 and comes into the game with an impressive 85 OVR. Her card also boasts 87 pace, 88 dribbling and 84 physicality.

That combination makes the Brighton goalkeeper an obvious choice between the sticks. She is also one of only two Nigerians rated 85 or higher, alongside Osimhen.

Right-back: Ola Aina – 79

Ola Aina gets the nod at right-back ahead of the other Nigerian options like Bright Osayi-Samuel (71 OVR) and Ryan Alebiosu (70 OVR).

The Nottingham Forest defender is rated 79 OVR and possesses 87 pace, 77 defending and 75 physicality.

His pace should make him particularly useful in a squad that needs full-backs capable of recovering quickly against counter-attacks.

Aina's defensive numbers also make him a more natural choice for the position than attempting to shoehorn another attacking player into the role.

Centre-back: Calvin Bassey – 78

Bassey is the first name on the team sheet at centre-back. The Fulham defender has a 78 OVR rating, with 77 pace, 77 defending and an excellent 85 physicality.

That 85 physicality is particularly attractive for a Nigerian-themed Ultimate Team squad, while his 77 pace means he should not be completely exposed when facing quick attackers.

Centre-back: Jordan Torunarigha – 74

Torunarigha completes the centre-back pairing. The Hamburg defender is rated 74 OVR and has 79 pace, 73 defending and 81 physicality.

While he is five points below Bassey in Overall rating, his pace and physicality make him a useful partner for the Fulham defender. The pairing also provides a nice balance between defensive strength and recovery speed.

Left-back: Felix Agu – 74

Felix Agu gets the nod at left-back.

The Werder Bremen defender is rated 74 OVR, but his 87 pace immediately makes him an appealing option for Ultimate Team.

His 76 dribbling and 70 defending further strengthen his case. Zaidu Sanusi is also rated 74, but Agu's 87 pace and 76 dribbling give him the edge for this particular XI.

Defensive midfield: Wilfred Ndidi – 75

Ndidi is one of the most obvious choices in the Nigerian midfield. The veteran midfielder has a 75 OVR rating, with 73 defending and 80 physicality.

Those numbers make him the team's natural ball-winner. He can sit in front of the defence while the more attack-minded players are given freedom to create.

Central midfield: Jennifer Echegini – 80

This is where the inclusion of the Super Falcons stars really changes the quality of the team.

Echegini is rated 80 OVR, making her the fourth-highest-rated Nigerian player in FC 27 and the second-highest-rated Nigerian midfielder on the list.

Her card has 76 pace, 79 dribbling and 67 defending, giving the midfield some technical quality alongside Ndidi's physical presence.

She is the ideal player to connect the defensive and attacking thirds.

Attacking midfield: Rasheedat Ajibade – 81

Ajibade is another player who makes the mixed Nigerian XI considerably stronger. The Atletico Madrid star is rated 81 OVR, with 87 pace and 85 dribbling.

Her 79 shooting also gives the attacking midfield a strong goal threat.

Ajibade's versatility is especially useful when constructing a Nigerian Ultimate Team because she can provide the energy and attacking movement needed behind the striker.

Right wing: Ademola Lookman – 83

Lookman is Nigeria's third-highest-rated player in FC 27 and the highest-rated Nigerian outfield player outside Osimhen.

His 83 OVR card comes with 86 pace, 83 shooting and 84 dribbling. Those are exactly the qualities you want from an attacking wide player.

Although EA lists him as a striker on the Nigerian ratings page, his pace and dribbling make him an obvious candidate to move into a wider attacking role when building a balanced squad.

Left wing: Nathan Tella – 78

Tella gets the other wide position. The Bayer Leverkusen winger has an impressive 90 pace, making him the fastest Nigerian player among the higher-rated options in this squad.

His 80 dribbling also gives him the ability to carry the ball into dangerous areas. Chidera Ejuke is rated 76 but has 89 pace and 83 dribbling, so he is an excellent alternative if you prefer a more dribbling-focused option.

Striker: Victor Osimhen – 85

Osimhen completes the XI. The Galatasaray striker is rated 85 OVR, level with Nnadozie as Nigeria's highest-rated male player.

His card includes 89 pace, 84 shooting and 86 physicality, making him exactly the type of striker you would expect to dominate a Nigerian-themed squad.

Osimhen's physicality combined with his pace should make him a nightmare for defenders, particularly when supported by Lookman, Tella and Ajibade.

The strongest Nigerian bench

There is also plenty of quality waiting on the bench.

Gift Monday (80) is one of the most intriguing options, with 88 pace and 80 dribbling. She could be devastating against tired defenders.

Alex Iwobi (80) offers another technical option in midfield, with 82 dribbling and 79 passing.

Omorinsola Babajide (77) provides 84 pace, 77 shooting and 78 dribbling and would be an excellent attacking substitute.

Paul Onuachu (77) gives the squad a completely different option. His 84 physicality and 78 shooting make him useful when a more direct approach is required.

Moses Simon (76) and Chidera Ejuke (76) can both provide pace and dribbling from wide areas.

Victor Boniface (76) is another powerful striker option, while Maduka Okoye (76) provides cover for Nnadozie.
