Trabzonspor fans are about to witness the best of Paul Onuachu with the Super Eagles striker backed to reach the next level following the arrival of Mohamed Salah, Soccernet.ng reports.
Salah completed his move to Trabzonspor after leaving Liverpool as a free agent, giving the Turkish club one of the most exciting attacking partnerships in the Süper Lig.
The Egypt captain has signed a two-year contract, reported as a one-year deal with an option for another season, and is expected to earn a base salary of €17 million (£14.5m) per year. Corporate sponsors are helping Trabzonspor cover the huge wage bill, while Salah will also receive 20% of revenue from merchandise carrying his name.
Thousands of supporters packed Papara Park to welcome the former Liverpool star, who turned down lucrative approaches from Saudi Arabia and MLS to continue playing in Europe and pursue UEFA competition.

His arrival could have a major effect on Onuachu. The Nigerian striker joined Trabzonspor permanently from Southampton for €5.6m last summer and he finished the 2025-26 season as the joint-top scorer with 22 league goals.
Why Salah could transform Onuachu
Former Trabzonspor forward Emre Gural believes Salah's presence will give Onuachu more chances inside the penalty area.
“Paul Onuachu will now receive the ball in a much different way and create different positions. Onuachu will create more space because the opposing team’s players will focus on Mohamed Salah,” Gural told Turkiyegazetesi, as per the Punch.
“If he finds a little more space thanks to Salah, he can score many different goals. A player like Salah is a plus for any team.”

The tactical idea is simple. Defenders cannot afford to give Salah too much room on the wing, especially with the Egyptian capable of cutting inside and creating chances or scoring himself. That attention could leave Onuachu with more room to attack crosses, through balls and loose deliveries around the box.
Trabzonspor finished third in the Süper Lig last season and lifted the Turkish Cup. With Salah, Onuachu and another former Liverpool ace Darwin Nunez leading the attack, the club is targeting its first league title since 2022 while preparing for the UEFA Europa League play-offs.
