
Acclaimed Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong, known for his roles in projects such as The Men’s Club, is stepping behind the camera for the first time with his directorial debut, The Herd, which is set to hit cinemas nationwide on October 17, 2025.
The film, co-produced by FilmOne Studios, ToriTori Films, Serendipity HHC, and Airscape, marks a new chapter for Etim-Effiong, who has built a solid reputation as one of Nollywood’s most consistent leading men.
Ahead of its release, The Herd had a star-studded premiere that brought out several Nollywood heavyweights, including Kanayo O. Kanayo, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Kate Henshaw, Kunle Remi, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
For Etim-Effiong, the film represents a major personal milestone. “The Herd is a story that’s deeply close to my heart,” he said. “Stepping behind the camera for the first time has been humbling, challenging, and immensely rewarding.”
The Herd opens in cinemas on Friday, October 17, 2025, and promises an emotional and visually striking story that underscores Nollywood’s creative evolution.
