It’s New Music Friday, and this week has many new songs from Nigerian artists. The lineup has different sounds and collaborations, featuring everything from different genres. We have a new single from Young Jonn in the track ‘Cash Flow’ featuring Wizkid, A new album from Both Tiwa Savage and Spinall, alongside Singles from Kizz Daniel and Bella Shmurda. It shows there’s something for everyone to enjoy and add to their playlist.
YoungJonn x Wizkid – Cash Flow
Young Jonn teams up with Wizkid on his new single “Cash Flow”, released in 2025. They team up together for Young Jonn’s third single of the year, after he dropped ‘Onlyfans’ and ‘Che chef t Asake’. This is Wizkid’s ninth feature of the year, as he shows he’s in his feature bag.
The track Cash Flow” embodies themes of abundance, success, and “soft life,”. Just as the lyrics of the song say, ‘Had a hard life but now I live soft,’ which is evident in the song. Before its official release, Wizkid teased the song during an Instagram Live with DJ Tunez and Young Jonn. The snippet previewed their chemistry in the studio, and it was obvious in the song.
The track showcases high-quality production and smooth transitions from both artists. Young Jonn delivers lively vocals and catchy hooks, while Wizkid contributes his signature calm and effortless melodic lines. As Wiz steps in with the verse ‘Omo the lifestyle cost na you no know,’ which shows he’s a big-time baller, and the lyric ‘Big daddy swag if you know you know,’ which is a line to show that Wiz has the aura of a big-time fashionista. This chemistry results in a vibrant contrast and magnetic synergy that turns the song into an instant mood-setter.

SPINALL – Èkò Groove (Album)
SPINALL releases his new album ‘Èkò Groove‘. The 14-track project is his seventh studio album and captures the vibrant energy and rhythm of his hometown, Lagos. SPINALL describes this project as a tribute to Lagos, a city that has nurtured countless creatives.
The album features a mix of Afrobeat, amapiano, dancehall, R&B, and hip-hop, with collaborations from both Nigerian and international artists. In the song “Èkó Groove” (feat. Ayinde Bakare) is the intro track to the album, which serves as an homage to a legendary Lagos figure, using his prelude as a tribute to the city’s enduring legacy.

Tiwa Savage – This One Is Personal (Album)
Nigerian music superstar, Tiwa Savage, is officially back. She has unveiled her highly anticipated fourth studio album ‘This One Is Personal’. This One Is Personal doesn’t just tell stories of love and loss, as it documents the growth, scars, and strength that define her womanhood. The album has an Afrobeats and Nigerian pop framework
This ends a five-year hiatus from full-length projects after she dropped ‘Celia’ in 2020. ‘This One is Personal’ will join her acclaimed discography of studio albums, which includes ‘Once Upon a Time’ (2013), ‘R.E.D’ (2015), and ‘Celia’ (2020)
The album showcases a deeply intimate Afrobeats sound. UK rapper, Skepta, appears on On the Low, rising star Taves features on Addicted, and Grammy-nominated James Fauntleroy joins her on Change. The album features collaborations with a select group of artists, including Nigerian-born British rapper Skepta, as well as Taves and Flauntleroy.
The tracklist features songs like ’I’m Done’, ‘Angel Dust’, ’You4Me’, ’On The Low’, ‘Holding It Down’, ‘10%’, ‘Twisted’, ’Scared Of Love’, ’Pray No More’, and ‘Addicted’. Bella Shmurda – Holy Jah
Bella Shmurda released the track “Holy Jah“ under his label, Dangbana Republik.
Holy Jah” is a spiritually charged song that blends Bella Shmurda’s signature streetwise storytelling with themes of divine intervention and emotional touch. The song’s lyrics reflect a journey from hardship to success. In the lyrics, he also says, ‘happiness is all I need, I don’t want stress, no worry’. The Song showcases a desire for continued prosperity and protection, with lines like “It’s a lonely road, Many don lose hope. Person no fit know when e go reach your turn. Motivation or no motivation, the para dey.” The track showcases that AfroAdura kind of music, as it’s a mixture of Afrobeat and street gospel music.
Kizz Daniel – To Be A Man
Kizz Daniel drops a new track, ‘To Be A Man’ is more than music as it’s a track that comes with a strong message about life, courage, and carrying the weight a man carries, which no one sees. It discusses the struggles of men and the pressure on the male figure, which also emits an uplifting track. Vado dives into the unspoken struggles of masculinity, pressure, and resilience in today’s world. Just as the song says, “if it is easy to be a man, take my shoes and go crazy.”’
The track is smooth yet powerful, blending his rich vocals with lyrics that hit home for anyone who’s ever carried silent battles on their shoulders. To Be A Man isn’t just music, it’s a message: a reminder that even the strongest faces have hidden stories.
