Former Nigeria international John Ogu is on the verge of sealing a move to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club Rivers United, Soccernet.ng reports.
The experienced midfielder, who earned 26 caps for the Super Eagles, is set to make a return to Nigerian football after over a decade plying his trade abroad.
Ogu began his football journey in Nigeria with Akwa Starlets, Akwa United, and Flying Sports Academy before launching his professional career in Europe. In 2006, he signed for Slovenian side Drava Ptuj, where he spent four years, scoring eight goals in 97 appearances.

If confirmed, Ogu’s move to Rivers United will bolster the Port Harcourt-based club’s midfield options ahead of the new NPFL season and their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
