NBA legend LeBron James endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president on Thursday, October 31, adding his voice to a growing chorus of celebrities supporting the Democratic candidate in her contest against Donald Trump.

What are we even talking about here?? When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS,” James declared in a passionate social media post, urging his millions of followers to make their voices heard.

Kamala Harris is neck-and-neck with Trump in the polls in what is predicted to be the closest US election in recent history. However, she has garnered endorsements from a star-studded lineup, including Hollywood icons like Meryl Streep, comedian Chris Rock, and media mogul Oprah Winfrey.

Music superstars Beyoncé and Taylor Swift have also thrown their support behind the vice president, amplifying her campaign’s visibility.

In a compelling 75-second video, James highlighted troubling rhetoric against minorities and immigrants from Trump and his supporters, reinforcing his commitment to social justice and equality.

As he enters his 22nd season in the NBA, Lebron James continues to advocate for change, having led Team USA to Olympic gold in Paris just this summer.

If successful in her bid, Harris would make history as the first woman and the first Black woman to hold the presidency. Her campaign is particularly focused on galvanizing support among Black men, a demographic where recent polls indicate a shift toward Trump.

In October, 63% of Black men expressed their intention to vote for Harris—an 8-point drop from Biden’s standing in 2020—while 19% indicated support for Trump, up from 17% in the last election cycle.

James, who has a history of political engagement, previously endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020.
