The Country Music Awards (CMAs) has announced its nominations, leaving out music star Beyoncé from its list.

The Awards organizers announced this on Monday.

The legendary singer who released her first full-length country project, “Cowboy Carter,” in March 2024 was expected to be nominated. The CMAs have now come under severe backlash from music fans for the apparent snub of Beyoncé.

“Texas Hold ‘Em,” the lead single off of “Cowboy Carter,” was one several fans felt was most deserving of an award.

The track was the first song by a Black female artist to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart after its release in February this year.

Beyoncé, herself, has always, in the past, said that she never felt welcomed in the country genre and her album was a “Beyonce Album” not a country one.

Her exclusion from the nominations has come as a huge shock to her fans and music lovers even as the artiste makes grounds in other areas in a stellar career to date.
