Osimhen’s agent leaves transfer door open for Chelsea, Arsenal moments after Super Eagles striker extends Napoli deal

The Nigerian forward is a hero in Naples and ranks top on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs in Europe and beyond

Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has refused to shut the door on the Super Eagles striker leaving Napoli next summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen inked a year extension on his contract at the weekend, ending a long-drawn back and forth between him and the club since the summer.

Napoli would be glad to keep the reigning Africa Player of the Year until the end of the 2025/2026 season.

Osimhen, however, remains one of the most sought-after strikers in the world, and he continues to be linked with English Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal. Paris Saint Germain and Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr reportedly made offers for Osimhen last summer and could be back again in another six months.

Calenda admits Osimhen and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis wanted the Nigerian to stay in Naples and it played a role in his decision to sign a new deal.

The Italian representative, however, hints that nothing is set in stone and a discussion with the Napoli owner next summer would reveal Osimhen’s next move.

When asked what would happen in May while in a chat with Corriere dello Sport (as per Tutto Napoli), Calenda said:

“Look, last summer many offers arrived, even monstrous ones, but De Laurentiis wanted to keep Victor, and we made ourselves available.

“If there had been the desire to leave, we would have said so. And instead, we worked, and a lot, only upon renewal.

“And next summer, it will be the same: we will talk to De Laurentiis and see together what to do.”

Osimhen has seven goals and two assists for Napoli this term, but he picked up a red card as the Neapolitans stumbled to a 2-0 defeat at Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma.
