Nigerian singing sensation Rema who presently maintains an impressive grip of the global music space with his hit song ‘Calm Down’ featuring Selena Gomez, has earned a nomination in the NET Honours Class of 2023 Most Popular Music Artiste (Male) category.

Asake, known as Mr Money, the YBNL’s newest star who has had a stellar run in the industry over the past year, also joins the Mavin star, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy in fighting for the popularity award.

The competition in this category is expected to be fierce.

Additionally, Rema also earned a nomination in the NET Honours ‘Most Searched Musician’ category, alongside Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and YBNL boss Olamide.

Rema continues to achieve milestones and set global records with ‘Calm Down,’ which has garnered over 800 million streams as of June 2023.

The question remains: Will Rema or Asake dethrone the established artists and win the Most Popular Musician award at NET Honours 2023?

The answer will be revealed on Friday, December 22, 2023, when the winners are announced on Netng’s website and social media platforms.

NET Honours, one of the world’s most prestigious verified audience data-based awards, debuted in 2013 as a special recognition award presented to deserving individuals in the Nigerian entertainment industry during the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive). In 2016, it evolved into NET Honours People’s Choice Awards. Then in 2020, due to the pandemic, the awards went virtual, reaching over 10 million people worldwide.

Online voting for the 18 voting categories commenced on Friday, December 15, on thenet.ng/voting, and ends at 11:59 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
