“I’ve never been to Italy” – Montpellier’s Adams speaks on joining Super Eagles star Chukwueze at AC Milan

The Nigerian forward has made the headlines several times since moving to France, and he could be on his way to more prestigious clubs sooner than imagined

Montpellier striker Akor Adams has spoken highly of Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze and AC Milan amidst links to a move away from France, Soccernet.ng reports.

Adams has been on the radar of AC Milan since lighting up Ligue 1 in his first few weeks in France.

The power-playing forward has had a fantastic 2023, notching up 15 goals in as many games for Lillestrom in the Norwegian Eliteserien before switching to Montpellier and smashing seven goals in 16 appearances.

Adams’ performances have fuelled rumours that Milan could make a move for him in January as they seek a long-term replacement for Frenchman Olivier Giroud.

However, the 23-year-old forward has revealed in an interview with Milannews (as per CalcioMercato) that he wants to stay focused on Montpellier in the interim.

When asked if it would be a dream to join compatriot Chukwueze at Milan, Adams admits his admiration for the Super Eagles winger and the Italian giants.

Adams confesses he dreams of the English Premier League like every child and insists he has never been to Italy.

“We are in the current season, my mind is on Montpellier, but for all children, the Premier League is a dream,” Adams said.

“What if I join Chukwueze at Milan? It’s too early to talk about it, but Chuk is a very good player and everyone knows that Milan is one of the best clubs in the world.

“For now, I can’t say anything but all football fans know that Milan is a top club, and I too am aware of it. But to date, I have still never been to Italy.”

Milan are, however, not the only club interested in Adams.

The Sun reports that English Premier League campaigners, West Ham have put Adams on their transfer list.

The Hammers could have an edge in the race for Adams’ signature over other admirers after he unveiled his desire to play in England.
