Two years after Nigerian music icon, Sound Sultan passed away, his team will be hosting a memorial symposium in his honour with a keynote speech from Daystar senior pastor, Rev. Sam Adeyemi.
The memorial symposium tagged ‘Fractured Bonds: Path To Reconciliation And Healing Post-2023 Elections’ will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.
Industry veterans like Chioma Chukwuka, Ayo Animashaun, Okey Bakassi and Desmond Elliot will also be in attendance as panelists, with Media personality Yaw slated to moderate the event.
Every year since his death, major events have been held in honour of the music star considered the pace setter for Nigerian hip-hop. Last year, his posthumous album Reality Chq was released with a series of events to honour the icon.
Sound Sultan passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021, due to complications arising from Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a cancer that affects the white blood cells.
