Victor Osimhen: Naples-based Maestros dedicates sensational song to Super Eagles striker

Naples-based Nigerian singer, Maestros, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the tricolor city and his compatriot Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.

It would be recalled that Victor Osimhen scored 23 league goals that led Napoli to clinch their first Serie A title in over three decades.

Maestros, known offstage as Abdul, unveiled his latest song, “Naples Champion,” a captivating Afrobeat rhythm that draws inspiration from the famous chants of the Azzurri supporters, according to Napoli Magazine

The song honours Osimhen and pays homage to the legendary Diego Armando Maradona and Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti.

Hailing from the same Nigerian region as Osimhen, Maestros, who embarked on a treacherous journey by boat from Nigeria to Italy five years ago, shares a deep-rooted connection with both football and Afrobeat music.

In recent months, Maestros has released two songs in the Afrobeat genre, with his debut single, “Rock,” hitting online platforms in November, followed by “My World,” a powerful track recounting his harrowing boat journey and the tragic loss of lives at sea.

His latest composition, “Naples Champion,” symbolizes his gratitude to the city that has welcomed and embraced him for several years, as well as his admiration for Osimhen, who shares a similar journey of pursuing fortune beyond Nigeria’s borders.

The song’s lyrics also acknowledge other key figures in the Azzurri squad, including Captain Di Lorenzo, Politano, Ndombele, Anguissa, Kvaratskhelia, Zielinski, Rrahmani, Simeone, and Olivera.

Maestros’ dedication to his craft and his heartfelt musical tribute to the Napoli team and its star players have resonated deeply with fans.

Osimhen continues to receive applause from fans and admirers after his excellent contributions helped end Naples’ 33-year wait for the Scudetto.
