Four months after releasing his single, Rich Till I Die (RTID), Kizz Daniel has released another old-aged banger for the streets to vibe to, Shu-Peru. The single was released on Friday, May 12, 2023.
Shu-Peru, which was produced by Reward Beatz and written by Kizz Daniel, Johnny Drille, and Joseph Watchorn, features Kizz Daniel’s regular elements that birth his hit singles.
With his memorable and short song titles usually repetitive in his choruses in a rhythmic manner, coupled with his penchant for simple yet addictive dance steps, Kizz Daniel has hacked the code for a nationwide hit.
Critics are, however, not feeling the methods as much anymore. One said, ‘Can’t believe this is the same Kizz Daniel that dropped Sin City, Laye, and so many other lyrics-filled songs now dropping childish songs all in the name of hits’. Another said, ‘ Kizz Daniel has an audience, and no, it’s not Gen Z or even Millenials’.
Although some seem to criticise his approach to making hit singles, others do not care as long as it is a song they can vibe to. One said, ‘Kizz Daniel’s Shu-Peru is a must-listen (imperfect but dope). Another said in defence of the track, ‘It’s only on Twitter that Kizz Daniel sings rubbish’.
Whether there are polarised opinions or not, Kizz Daniel has an audience, and those audiences would certainly find this single catchy and groundbreaking.
