Super Bowl LVIII is coming to our screens in a few hours with the final game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Although we are excited about the game, Rihanna’s half-time performance has become an area of attraction for millions of non-football fans worldwide.

The American football championship game held annually, which usually has an average audience of 112 million viewers worldwide, would be having the multi-award-winning star Rihanna perform at the State Farm Stadium almost seven years after she has performed officially on stage.

Rihanna would be joining a short list of A-list music stars like Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, and more, who have performed at the halftime show. During a press conference with Apple music, she mentioned that her Super Bowl performance would last for 13 minutes.

“Some songs we have to lose because of that, and that’s going to be okay. We did a pretty good job at narrowing it down. There’s probably been about 39 versions of the setlist right now. We’re on our 39th. Every little change counts,” she said.

As much as fans are anticipating the setlist, we can’t help but wonder if her latest Oscar-nominated single ‘Lift Me Up’, which was written by Grammy-winning artiste Tems would make it to the line-up. If the single makes the lineup, this would be a huge feat for Tems.

This would be Rihanna’s first stage performance since she gave birth to her baby boy on May 13, 2022 with American rapper A$AP Rocky.

“There’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all. It’s important for me to do this this year, important for representation, important for my son to see that,” she said.

The Super Bowl would be shown on DStv channel 218 and GOtv channel 37 by 12:30 am on Monday, February 13, 2023.
